People are inherently complex. This has been one of our guiding principles throughout both Life is Strange and Life is Strange: Before the Storm. This idea extends beyond the protagonists of our game to include all characters in the world we are building, but is especially true of both Chloe and Rachel.
Returning players will see familiar facets of these characters but also new and surprising sides to them. The perfect girl may not be so perfect after all and even a broken person can have incredible strength.
We’re extremely happy to have been able to involve Ashly Burch in the creation of Before the Storm as a writing consultant and she has truly helped mould Chloe into the character you will play in Before the Storm. Rhianna Devries, guided by Season One’s returning voice over director, shaped Chloe’s younger voice and character on an equally emotional level to really bring out Chloe’s feelings throughout Before the Storm. Excitement, anger and lasting grief to name a few – these may at times be subtly masked by Chloe’s disaffection with the world around her but the facade cannot hold throughout…
The first episode of Life is Strange: Before the Storm will release on 31st August 2017 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC (Steam).
