Agents of Yesterday Now Available!

To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Star Trek, the crew of Star Trek Online could not be prouder to announce our third expansion – Agents of Yesterday – is now live! Prepare your classic Original Series tunics and dust off your Mark II phasers; you’re about to take an away mission to an amazing adventure in that classic 60’s era. Our expansion is full of amazing features to bring you a complete and classic experience here in Star Trek Online.

First and foremost, players can create brand new captains in the Original Series era and engage in a story that takes them through the 23rd century and beyond. There will be a sweeping mystery to solve, one that ties into the overall story Star Trek Online has been telling for years. For players that choose to keep playing with their existing characters, we have a can’t-miss set of five episodes that will tie up the story arc we’ve been telling for nearly a year.

Next, we have an amazing cast of voice actors joining our captains on their adventure through this episodic content. Walter Koenig will be reprising his role as Chekov, and Chris Doohan will be filling in for his father by playing Montgomery “Scotty” Scott. Chase Masterson will be reprising her role as Admiral Leeta from the Mirror Universe, and Matt Winston will be making his Star Trek Online debut as Agent Daniels – originally seen on Star Trek: Enterprise. Finally, we have Joseph Gatt playing the cyborg crewman 0718, a character from the new Star Trek movies who joins us on our first adventure into that universe.

In addition to the amazing story content and voice actors we have a brand new Temporal Reputation that will grant people not only powers and a new suite of endgame gear but new queue-based content to play. The new Temporal Specialization will let people continue to differentiate their captains at endgame, and provides a full complement of brand new bridge officer powers. We will also be running a new “Temporal Agent Recruit” event for a limited time for any of our new TOS era captains. The recruitment system will provide challenges for players to complete that will provide a reward to that captain, and rewards for any other captains on their account.

This expansion truly captures the feel of the Original Series, and I can’t wait to see everyone in game!

Gigantic: Stress Test Coming July 30 – Arc members and Xbox Live players interested in joining our stress test next weekend should check this link to find out more information about signing up. The test will give players players, both new and existing, a chance to check out the game and helps us get an idea of how gigantic will perform where it'll be played.

Tuque Games in alliance with Perfect World Entertainment are proud to announce that Livelock will release on August 2nd, 2016, on PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One.

When Tuque Games formed in 2012, they set out to create a game that brought back the classic feeling of spending hours at the arcade with your friends. Livelock is this creation.

You and your two closest friends are humanity’s last hope. Awaken to the planet Earth destroyed by a gamma ray. Although scientists received a warning 10 years ago, the preparation for the gamma ray’s devastation wasn’t enough. The millions of human consciousness that were uploaded into the digital network survived, but became corrupted and as a result, they have separated into 3 rogue robot fractions. Each of these fractions has created their own agenda for survival and will destroy anyone that stands in their way.

Upon awakening, you find that you’ve been uploaded into a mechanical chassis by an ally known as SATCOM, who wants to see humanity united, and your new mech body is armed with a gigantic arsenal. Lucky you!

CHOOSE YOUR HERO

Choose one of three Capital Intellects and fight your way through enemy hordes. Customizable arsenals and character classes make each Livelock game a unique experience. In the battle for humanity, choose to play as either Hex– the DPS marksman, Vanguard– the diligent close quarters brawler, or Catalyst– the tactical support with a mini drone army.

 

On August 2nd, 2016 the fate of humanity is in your hands. Will you fight together to take back Planet Earth?

Livelock: Meet Tuque – Alexandre Hétu

Hello World,

 

My name is Alexandre Hétu and I am the PS4 Lead Programmer for Livelock. 

 

Growing up, what were your favorite games?

Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Doom, X-Com (the original), Ultima7, SimCity, Tomb Raider, and Duke Nukem 3D.

What are a few of your favorite games from the last few years?

Demon's Souls. 

What made you want to become a developers/work in the gaming industry?

As a kid I dreamt of drawing comic books when I grew up. Then one day, around age 13 or 14, I witnessed Doom running on a PC. I worked two summers and eventually bought my first computer. Soon after that during high-school I made friends with a computer genius who introduced me to programming and demo coding and that was it, I got hooked on graphics programming and all things related to game programming. 

 

What would you be doing if you weren't working on Livelock?

I would probably just be bored if i wasn't working on Livelock. 

 

Making a new title with a fresh studio, what has been the most exciting or terrifying moment?

Nothing too terrifying. Working with a smaller team creates opportunities to work on so many more things than you normally would in a bigger studio. It is much more challenging, but in a good way. 

 

Everyone needs a break from work, are there any office pastimes that you partake in (i.e. gaming, board games, tcgs, etc.)?

Unfortunately, some of us have a love/hate relationship with NHL 2016.

 

What other hobbies or interests do you have other than gaming?

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, programming, and board gaming.

 

Would you be willing to undergo the mind upload? If so, would you be a capital Intellect or a rogue cluster? 

Definitely a Rogue Cluster.
