Mobile gaming is lucrative and has become the biggest sector of the gaming industry. A number of recent reports detail how well the industry is doing.
Mobile accounted for 43% of total game industry spending followed by console (29%) and PC (28%), VentureBeat notes.
Consumers are spending more on mobile games than any other segment. According to a report by App Annie and IDC, consumers spent 3.6 times more on mobile games than on home game consoles, and 2.3 times more than on PC or Mac games.
Tech Crunch highlights a report from Sensor Tower stating that 82% of all consumer spending for both the iOS and Google Play app stores came from mobile games. Total spending is estimated at $48.3 billion and represented a 30 percent year-over-year increase in 2017.
