FINAL FANTASY XV Fan and Friend – Aimee Finnegan

Today, the Final Fantasy XV team would like to highlight Aimee Finnegan (known as Finny within the community), a familiar face you’ve seen at many consumer shows supporting Final Fantasy XV. How did I have the honor to meet this bubbly soul? She was one of the top ten fans that were standing in front of the line for our Uncovered Final Fantasy XV Event last year on March 30th, 2016. Ever since that day, anytime I saw her at a consumer show all over America, I’d see Jenny her trusted sister, or her friend Kelly alongside her whom she met at Uncovered. She had traveled from Texas to make it to Uncovered, standing in the line over seven hours before the lines even were to open. She has that spark and humor that not many people can tap into naturally.

Finny’s “Who is Your Favorite Chocobro” poll was a big hit at the show, carrying over to PAX West where we got to see her smiling face again!! The first fan favorite chocobro contest… who would you have voted for? Ask Finny, as she’s NOT shy to tell you who her favorite chocobro is. Clue, he’s smart and likes to cook. Do you agree with her?
At PAX west, her “Favorite Chocobro” contest carried over with a bonus guest. She managed to sneak in Director Hajime Tabata, who fans call ‘Tabby’. Guess who won that vote?

See the results we posted on Twitter!

In the short year I’ve known Finny, we continuously talk about our future hopes and goals for the gaming industry. We share our ideas and talk about what additional community activities could get fans excited. As an instructor, Finny has a way of involving people to come together by profession. As a fan, she relates with many of us who just love to connect to inspirational games and communities.
When Final Fantasy XV was about to launch, she reached out to let us know that her Tumblr community had put together art to send to the FFXV team. I had anticipated this Poster, wondering what kind of artists would participate. When the final poster came in, I was beyond excited to show the BD2 team.

To every person who submitted and shared their cosplay and art THANK YOU SO MUCH. Final Fantasy XV will continue to include additional DLC and expand its universe.

I think Finny, her Tumblr community and the BD2 team share an unbreakable bond. We stand together, by each other to represent a strong global community that expresses our individuality and creativity through the sharing of art, cosplay and gatherings. Do you have a favorite community you belong to within Square Enix games? Share with us how you connect with one another for a future feature in our Square Enix Blog. One person will make a difference that can spark a wave of positivity. Thank you Finny.

P.S. 🙂
In closing, here are some special messages from Finny and the rest of the community team!

The idea of doing a fan project for Square Enix’s Business Division 2 team came to mind when I created a Tumblr event for Final Fantasy XV called FFXV week. It is a dedicated week for the game with different themes every day and fans can create art, fiction, graphics, etc. according to those themes. The final theme of the event was “FFXV Staff Appreciation Day” and it was met with lots of enthusiasm and excitement. So I thought why not take everyone’s love and appreciation for the staff to the next level by making a fun community project with other fans. I announced my plan for the fan poster and was blown away by the response. It was a huge success! It was really neat to see how fans from all over the world could come together with different ideas and create something to show these amazing people just how much we appreciate their hard work and dedication in making Final Fantasy XV.
Thank you Tabata-san, BD2 and everyone else involved in creating the FFXV universe. We look forward to future updates of the game! I hope this poster shows you all how much love we have for FFXV and everyone that’s a part of its amazing family.
All the submissions (and ones submitted in support of the project that are not on the poster) can be viewed online at http://ffxvweek.tumblr.com/ffxvfanproject.

Neptunia Illustrator/Character Designer Tsunako and Producer Naoko Mizuno will be at AX as Guests of Honor!

It’s time for the biggest Nep announcement yet.

Anime Expo is hosting the creators of the Neptunia series! We’re honored to reveal Illustrator/Character Designer Tsunako and
Producer Naoko Mizuno as official AX Guests of Honor!

Tsunako + Mizuno – social graphic

Illustrator/Character Designer Tsunako
Tsunako is an illustrator at Idea Factory, known for her character designs for series like Neptunia and
Date-A-Live (Fujimi Fantasia Bunko). At the age of 10, she decided to become a game graphic designer and at 18 was already working on illustrations and comics! Upon graduating with a design major in 2008 she joined Idea Factory, which she chose as a fan of their
Neverland series. In 2016 she released her personal illustration book and in 2017 an illustration book based off the light novel “Date-A-Live”.

Producer Naoko Mizuno

Mizuno is well-known as the producer of the Neptunia series. Playing games as a child inspired her to become someone “who can create games,” yet she found herself working in another field after graduating. But she realized she couldn’t give up her dream! She quit everything to move to Tokyo, and attended school for 3D graphic design. Soon after, she joined Idea Factory as a 3D designer, and 10 years later produced the first
Hyperdimension Neptunia. She’s gone on to produce every Neptunia game, as well as the Fairy Fencer F series.

We’re super excited to have them at Anime Expo with us! Both Tsunako and Mizuno will be participating in a panel, and autograph sessions (schedule TBA).

We will be holding our own autograph sessions at the our booth, #4401. More details coming soon!
